Last May 9th we had a great spring event over at SAM XL in Delft. With a list of exciting speakers and topics and interesting tours at SAM XL and CEAD Group we had a packed program.
Aydin van den Bergh, Sungi Han, André Florindo and Bram Jongbloed kicked off with more insights about SAMXL and the nice developments that are going on there.
Harry Fietje from Autonational Composite Machinery gave us an update on automation in filament winding, followed by Fulko Roos from Royal3D who explained about the challenges in large scale additive manufacting of load bearing structures.
Thank you Sirris | Innovation forward and Agoria who joined with a joint Belgian delegation and sponsored the lunch.
After the lunch Sampes Ferrie van Hattum introduced the winners of the Sampe Benelux Student competion, congratulations to Mauryn de Graaf from University of Twente and Shailee Upadhyay from KU Leuven who will represent the Benelux in the Sampe Europe student contest.
Rob Barendse and Soren Blomaard from TANIQ explained the integration of process control parameters in filament winding software to us, followed by the last presentation by Cédric De Roover from Coexpair Dynamics who showed us a new model for fiber deposition automation.
After a short break the group split in 2 and we quickly hopped on the bus to CEAD Group to get a tour around the facility and see some live printing on 2 robots, while to other half of the group first toured the SAM XL facility.
Afterwards we had a closing drink and then it was time for everybody to start the trip home.
We hope to see you all again at our fall meeting, announcements on that are following soon!
