This year’s SAMPE Benelux Spring meeting is planned for Tuesday June 9th, at GKN Fokker Aerospace in Hoogeveen, The Netherlands (follow this link for details and registration).
Accordingly, the SAMPE Benelux 2026 Students’ meeting will be held the day before, so students are offered the opportunity to subsequently participate in the Benelux Spring Meeting as well. The student winners will have a chance to present their work at the SAMPE Benelux meeting at the same time!
This year the SAMPE Benelux 2026 Students’ meeting will therefore take place in Hoogeveen, The Netherlands on: Monday, June 8th 2026 12:30h – 18:00h
As in previous years, also this year SAMPE Benelux is allowed to delegate 2 students (just as many as France, the UK and Germany!) to the SAMPE Europe 2026 Conference, this time in Lecce, Italy (30 September – 1 October 2026), to participate in the International SAMPE Europe Students Seminar.
Last two years, both SAMPE Benelux 2024 MSc-student winner Marion Cardous (KULeuven) as well as SAMPE Benelux 2025 MSc-student winner Ilse ten Bruggencate (Saxion|TPAC) also won the subsequent SAMPE Europe Students’ Seminar and won a free trip to participate in the SAMPE North America Student Leadership Experience!
To again show the great quality of student research done in the Benelux, on behalf of SAMPE Benelux we would therefore like to invite:
- Excellent students in material and process science and engineering
- BSc/MSc students in their final year (at moment of selection)
- PhD students in the middle of their project
to participate in our annual SAMPE Benelux Students meeting to present their work.
During this event students from the participating groups are invited to present their work. A jury consisting of staff members and experts from industry selects 2 winners (one BSc/MSc, one PhD) who will be given the opportunity to represent SAMPE Europe 2026 International Students’ Seminar, during the Fall Conference in Lecce , Italy. Additionally, the student meeting offers an excellent opportunity to meet and discuss with colleagues working in the same field.
With this announcement I’d like to ask you to bring the event under the attention of your students and at the same time delegate one or two students who would be able to give a nice and inspiring talk about their work at the Benelux meeting. And, if winning, potentially proudly represent the Benelux in SAMPE’s Europe and North America meeting!! So, participating is more than worth it!
Please note that students should be working on their Bachelor’s of Masters assignment or be in the first half of their PhD assignment.
We would like to stimulate especially Bachelor’s and Master’s students to join!
As in previous years: thanks to our sponsors and SAMPE Benelux, participation in the SAMPE Benelux Student meeting is at no cost: hotel (allowing joining the SAMPE Benelux Spring meeting the following day), dinner and catering are taken care of, only transportation to the meeting should be taken care of by the participants.
